I did a bit of research for a while at Université de Montréal, INRIA, Harvard / Brigham & Women's Hospital and a few other places. Google "Alexandre Guimond" and most of the first links will be about my work and projects there.
I then went to the private sector looking for different challenges and I'm now working for Siemens Molecular Imaging. What I've done there is best described on Linked in. I do try to keep that information up to date.
I'm lucky to have enough time & money to travel fairly often (not a usual combination!). I keep my travel "profile" on CouchSurfing. Check it out! Its a pretty good site and you meet the best people.
Here are some interesting writings I've come across over the years: The France FAQ outlines why it's so good to live here, and driving in the french lane why its so fun to drive. It might even better than driving in Montreal! There's also one about the joys of living in Quebec. That being said, I do miss Santa Claus and the White Christmas thing. If you're looking for a motivation letter to attend college, take a look at Hugh Gallagher's essay. Finally, a perfect season's greetings to send your politically correct friends.
In the same vein, here are some interesting audio clips: If you're about to get married you should listen to the wedding race. I also have a nice little tribute to Francis Cabrel and this amazing documentary about the most popular word in the English vocabulary.
